The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is the process through which
- Non-baptized adults and adults baptized in another Christian tradition prepare to embrace the Roman Catholic Faith
- Baptized Roman Catholic adults prepare to receive the sacraments of Penance, Eucharist and Confirmation
- Non-baptized children or teens or children or teens baptized in other Christian traditions who wish to embrace the Roman Catholic tradition go through a similar process supported by adults who are converting with them or supporting their deepening initiation.
- This process involves both learning information and sharing formation in the Catholic Faith.
